Certifications and Credentials
Behind Rydge Studio Bora Bora’s work is a combination of formal education, professional certification, and more than two decades of experience across the worlds of art and Tahitian pearls.
Toby holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the Australian National University and a GIA Certificate in Pearls from the Gemological Institute of America.
Rydge Studio Bora Bora also collaborates with OPEC, one of the region’s most established and highly accredited pearl boutiques, founded in 1991. Its team holds GIA qualifications covering pearls, fine jewellery, diamonds, and precious and semi-precious stones.
In a market where the quality and pricing of pearls can vary considerably, professional knowledge and independent certification provide an important point of reference.
Each pearl is carefully examined, with X-ray analysis used to assess nacre thickness, nucleus placement, and the possible presence of hidden gas pockets.
This commitment to knowledge and verification gives clients greater confidence in understanding the quality and characteristics of what they are purchasing.
